Reddit phone verification: signup options and SMS codes

Check whether phone signup is offered in your region

Reddit’s signup help describes phone registration in eligible regions, alongside email and linked Google or Apple methods. Open the legitimate app or website and inspect the choices it offers you. Choosing a foreign reception country does not establish regional eligibility or override a missing signup option.

• Separate number country from service eligibility

Use the code in the request that generated it

If phone signup is available, the official flow sends a one-time text code to complete that step. Compare the destination with the full assigned number before requesting it. Keep the request open and use its matching code; a message from a different service or earlier attempt is not interchangeable.

Prepare an independent way back to the account

Reddit encourages adding an email for recovery and may offer a passkey during signup. These are separate account settings, not features included in an SMS activation. Review them from your own session so that losing a temporary reception window does not leave the phone as your only accessible contact.

• Plan account access after a number expires

Keep a record of your own signup method

For later access, know which username and sign-in method belong to your account. If you originally used Google, Apple or email, a newly purchased number is not automatically connected to that profile. Change account contacts through the official settings while you retain a working session.

Inspect reception terms rather than directory size

Select Reddit and the needed number country, then inspect actual availability, duration and the quoted offer. The directory is a reference for selection. If a number is accepted but a text is missing, track the request and allocated activation; if the flow is not offered, resolve that platform question first.
