SMS verification code not received: what to check
SMS verification code not received? Check the number, service, reception window and resend timer before retrying or buying another activation.

Identify the unfinished stage before requesting again
Start with the displayed state: pending top-up, balance not credited, purchase not confirmed, number not allocated, SMS missing or code rejected. These are different problems. A crypto transfer sent from a wallet is not proof that you purchased a number, and a confirmed purchase is not proof that the target app sent its SMS.
If no number has been allocated, inspect the purchase or top-up first. If you have an allocated number and submitted the verification request, open that activation to check its state and messages. Do not buy another number simply to resolve an uncertain status.
Compare the destination with your allocated number
Check the country, prefix and every digit entered in the app against the number in your account. A country selector may already supply the prefix. Follow the form’s instructions rather than adding the country code twice or applying another country’s national-number rules.
Check the activation’s selected service and the channel chosen by the app. An SMS reception offer does not necessarily support a voice call. An activation associated with another service is not evidence that this request is covered. Fix a clear mismatch before sending another request.
Read the reception window and resend timer separately
The activation window tells you when the number can receive a message. The target app’s countdown tells you when it permits another code request. One timer does not extend the other. Refresh with the tracking controls and use the displayed activation state rather than assuming that a browser countdown proves availability.
Follow the waiting period shown by the platform. Use its resend action only when available and when your activation still permits reception. There is no universal waiting time for every service. Repeated requests or edits to the number during a wait can make it harder to identify which request a message belongs to.
Decide whether the SMS is missing or the code is rejected
If a message appears, inspect its time and the request it belongs to. Multiple requests may produce multiple codes. Do not assume an earlier code remains valid after a resend, and never guess missing digits. Enter a received code only on the service screen you opened yourself.
A visible message followed by an expired-code, invalid-code or unsupported-number error needs the app’s own troubleshooting. Record its exact message. WhatsApp’s official help, for example, instructs users to respect its displayed wait before retrying. The reception provider cannot remove that platform’s registration rules or guarantee acceptance.
Use only the actions available for this activation
Refresh through the offered controls. An expired, cancelled or finished activation should not be treated as an open reception window. Resend, extension and later reception are available only where the actual offer and activation state provide them.
If cancellation is available, read its conditions before confirming. A missing SMS does not automatically mean a refund or replacement. Check the state and applicable commercial terms before making another purchase; a new number is not a diagnosis of the original problem.
Prepare a precise support request without exposing codes
Keep the activation reference, service, country, request time with time zone, displayed state and exact app error. Explain whether no message ever arrived or a received code was rejected. Include the order or top-up reference only if the unfinished stage concerns payment or allocation.
Send those details through the account’s support channel and mask OTPs and personal data in screenshots. An activation reference helps locate the operation; support does not need your account password, wallet recovery phrase or a public copy of the verification code to understand these observations.
