Viber’s activation help asks for international number format and excludes internet-based VoIP numbers. Check the selected country code, the local digits expected by the form and the offer’s documented category. A number that looks correctly formatted is not necessarily a supported line.

Viber documents text activation as well as flash-call and voice alternatives. A flash call uses information from the incoming caller’s number; a voice call delivers a spoken code. Neither is a text message. Confirm your actual channel before purchasing an offer limited to SMS reception.

Do not confuse the activation code with a saved PIN

Viber’s two-step verification PIN can be requested for a new phone, reactivation or account changes. It is not the OTP sent for the current number check. If the app asks for your existing PIN, use your own configured recovery process; buying another text does not retrieve that secret.

Think about the next device before tying a messaging account to short-lived number access. Review the official account and security settings while you can use the app. A reception window does not preserve a line, transfer conversations or guarantee that a future activation will allocate the same number.

Treat a restriction as a platform issue

Viber can display activation restrictions or a wait after repeated attempts. Follow the current error and official support path. If the number is accepted and SMS is the selected channel, check the active reception window and allocated message state. Read the actual Viber quote before committing account balance.
